Seismically restrained SLRMT air spring mounts
Mason Mercer have been providing engineered solutions for vibration isolation, seismic restraint and flexible pipe connections to silicon chip manufacturing facilities for decades and in recent years we have been heavily involved in data centres.
We regularly work with data centre operators, OEM suppliers and installers from power generation, chilled water production and I.T. cooling industries.
Our expertise spans critical infrastructure requirements, ensuring your equipment performs reliably under all conditions, including seismic events and operational stresses.
Vibration Isolation & Seismic Restraint
Mason’s vibration isolation systems are specifically designed for data centre environments where equipment reliability is critical. From the smallest rubber mountings to advanced air spring systems, we have the solution for your application.
Key Benefits:
- Ultra-low natural frequency systems
- Proven performance in critical infrastructure
- Comprehensive range of spring options
- Australian & International standard seismic code compliant solutions
Integrated Seismic Design
Why Combined Solutions Matter:
All too often we see a vibration isolation system designed by one supplier compromised by the seismic restraint system of another. This can lead to:
- Performance degradation during operation
- Compatibility issues during installation
- Reduced reliability in seismic events
- Project specification compliance issues
Mason Mercer’s integrated approach ensures that both vibration isolation and seismic restraint work together harmoniously, reducing risk for the end user.
Our comprehensive testing and third-party certifications provide confidence that your critical infrastructure is protected under all operating conditions.
Compliance
Seismic Compliance for Critical Infrastructure
We offer seismic compliance for all our seismic systems, with extensive experience with projects requiring continuity of operation for critical infrastructure, required for all importance level 4 structures.
We have products and systems suitable for all Importance Level 4 projects, meeting the strictest requirements for facilities that must remain operational during and after seismic events.
Certified Anchor Designs
Offered as part of our seismic compliance pack are certified anchor designs to complement the seismically restrained vibration isolators.
Our engineering team works with your project specifications to ensure all mounting systems are correctly designed and installed for maximum performance and safety.
Flexible Connections
Stainless Steel Vee Connections
Our Stainless Steel Vee connections are used for seismic movement joints, thermal movement, long term settlement, misalignment and vibration isolation. Large diameter pipe systems benefit the most from our Vee design, drastically reducing anchor loads as the Vee joint does not introduce thrust into the system.
Our Engineering team can provide a comprehensive expansion design for a complete HVAC cooling system within your project.
Using a 60-degree vee in the hose design, we offer the lowest spring rates available on the market, significantly reducing:
- Anchor thrust loads
- Pipe stress
- Installation stress
- Maintenance requirements
IT Cooling Applications
We developed a range of stainless braided hoses specifically for I.T. cooling applications in data centres.
Our hoses feature:
- Tight bending radius for complex routing
- Long lengths for extended runs
- High movement protection
- Seismic protection capability
- Durability and corrosion resistance
All our flexible connections undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet the demanding requirements of modern data centre installations.
Our testing protocols verify performance under:
- High movement cycles
- Thermal expansion/contraction
- Seismic events
- Extended service life
Testing & Certification
Our tested values for seismic restraint systems are published within our data sheets along with approval numbers. We have test data for the stiffness of our Stainless Vee Joints to assist with pipework and anchor designs.
